Ever notice how unwanted fat seems to have a mind of its own? You work out, you eat right, but those stubborn bulges just hang around in all the wrong places. Meanwhile, you might be wishing for a bit more fullness in your chest. This is where natural breast augmentation comes into play. This blog discusses common areas where Dr. Jon Strawn can harvest fat to achieve two wins: a thinner, shaped body, AND voluminous, natural-looking breast enhancement.

What Is Fat Harvesting?

Fat harvesting, also known as fat grafting or liposuction, involves removing fat from one part of the body to use it elsewhere, often for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes. The most common areas for fat harvesting include:

  • Abdomen: The abdomen is one of the most common areas for fat harvesting due to the relatively large amount of accessible fat in this region.
  • Thighs: Both the inner and outer thighs are popular sites for fat harvesting. The thighs often contain sufficient fat deposits that can be easily harvested.
  • Flanks (Love Handles): The flanks are another common area, as they tend to accumulate fat that can be effectively harvested and used for grafting. Excess fat in our flanks makes our buttocks look square instead of the more preferable teardrop, or upside-down heart shape.
  • Buttocks: Fat can be harvested from the buttocks, though it is much less desirable compared to other areas.
  • Back: The lower back, in particular, can be a source of fat for harvesting.
  • Arms: The upper arms can sometimes provide some fat, especially in individuals with excess fat in this area, but usually, this is not the greatest source of volume.

The choice of area for fat harvesting often depends on the individual’s body composition and the specific goals of the procedure.

What Is Our Philosophy at Scultura Plastic Surgery?

We prefer harvesting symmetrically, all the way around the waist, or 360-degree trunk, including the abdomen, flanks, love handles, lateral breasts/armpits, and lower back. This technique results in the most pleasing, narrow, and “snatched”  waist possible.

Our second choice is 360-Thighs, which leaves your butt shapelier and your legs generally thinner, but without the contour deformities found when only sections of the thighs are suctioned.
